You must surround yourself with people who will support your direction, vision, purpose, and destiny now that you have separated yourself from the wrong people.
Idiots, sluggards, slothful, talebearers, and deceptive people. Nature abhors vacuums, therefore this is crucial. Proverbs 27:1-27.
You need people that will make you a better person. Proverbs 27:17. Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.
Just as you have to deliberately divorce yourself from the wrong classes of people, you also have to deliberately surround yourself with the right kinds of people to build a successful destiny.
Consciously attract and surround yourself with the following kinds of people.
🎯1. Encouragers. Proverbs 27:2. Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; a stranger, and not thine own lips.
Have people around you who will celebrate your little or big wins, who will build you up with encouraging words with any and everything achievement.
👉🏾When you lose a pound or kilogram.
👉🏾When you pass a test or exam
👉🏾When you start or complete a project.
👉🏾When you get a new job or start a business
👉🏾When you achieve your saving or investment goal.
👉🏾When you keep to your promises or pay your vow.
🎯2. Correctors. Proverbs 27:5. Open rebuke is better than secret love. Surround yourself with people who are courageous enough to speak up to correct you when you are wrong or going astray.
We make mistakes everyday and everywhere. We need people who will stand up to stop us from doing stupid things.
👉🏾Have accountability partners
👉🏾Have people who will regularly evaluate your works and give you honest feedbacks.
👉🏾Have people who will put their lives and friendship on the line to rebuke you.
Remember that, according to Proverbs 27:6.
Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful. You need people that may bruise your ego and self image to save you from yourself.
🎯3. Reminders. Proverbs 27:8. As a bird that wandereth from her nest, so is a man that wandereth from his place.
You need to surround yourself with people who will remind you of where you are coming from, where you plan to be going and who you truly are.
👉🏾You need people who will remind you of your vision, purpose and plans on earth.
👉🏾You need people who will ask you to stay humble even in success and to keep a level head.
👉🏾You need people who will bring you back to your place – in case you wander out of the way.
🎯4. Counselors. Proverbs 27:9. Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart: so doth the sweetness of a man’s friend by hearty counsel. Remember that in the multitude of counselors there is safety.
👉🏾Surround yourself with honest and wise counselors who will help provide real evidence for decisions and actions.
👉🏾Surround yourself with people you respect and honor whose counsels you will adhere to.
🎯5. Disciplinarians. Proverbs 27:12. A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself; but the simple pass on, and are punished. Find people who will panel beat you into shape when you are on the wrong path.
These people save not only your destiny but also your life from early destructions. Find them and please value them.
🎯6. Teachers. Proverbs 27:17. Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.
Find and surround yourself with individuals who will help make you a better person through teaching and mentoring. Make friends with purpose. Get better by learning from the teachers and mentors in your circle.
👉🏾Honour, serve and respect the teachers and mentors you have. Proverbs 27:18.
Whoso keepeth the fig tree shall eat the fruit thereof: so he that waiteth on his master shall be honoured. Serve them to enjoy the blessings in them.
Regularly take out time to assess and evaluate the people surrounding you – are they any of the above or something else? Proverbs 27:23. Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks, and look well to thy herds.
👉🏾Are you getting the best out of all they carry or missing out in the relationship?
👉🏾Are you building upon the foundations laid or living in the foundation? Proverbs 27:24.
For riches are not for ever: and doth the crown endure to every generation?_ Whatever you have now may not last forever. So, build upon it.
When you succeed in surrounding yourself with the right people, you develop enough capacity and wealth to always have enough of riches, peace and joy. Proverbs 27:27.
And thou shalt have goats’ milk enough for thy food, for the food of thy household, and for the maintenance for thy maidens.
