What must you teach your children?
🎯1. Teach your children the importance of a good name. Proverbs 22:1. A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favor rather than silver and gold. A good name is not a gift but created by hard and honest work.
A good name is better than great riches as it opens doors and brings favor. Teach them to keep the family name sacred.
🎯2. Teach your children to respect all men – rich or poor. Proverbs 22:2. The rich and poor meet together: the Lord is the maker of them all. They should not judge people by their circumstances but should be compassionate to the poor and needy always.
🎯3. Teach your children to be prudent and wise. Proverbs 22:3. A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished. They should not believe everything they hear, see or feel.
They should think before they talk, look before they leap, and trust but verify all things. They should believe in God completely but believe in men with the spirit of discernment.
🎯4. Teach your children to be humble and meek. Proverbs 22:4. By humility and the fear of the Lord are riches, and honor, and life. Pride destroys us as we are nothing without God. Teach them to give God all the glory who has helped them and made them who they are.
🎯5. Teach your children the pain of debts. Proverbs 22:7. The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender. Debt is painful. Teach them to live their lives debt-free. But if in the USA and other nations where debts are a way of life, to be faithful in serving their debts and building good credits.
🎯6. Teach your children the power of seed sowing. Proverbs 22:8. He that soweth iniquity shall reap vanity: and the rod of his anger shall fail. Life is all about seedtime and harvest time. They should sow good seeds to reap good harvests.
👉🏾They should work hard to make a good income.
👉🏾They should read their books to pass their exams.
👉🏾They should invest to reap returns.
🎯7. Teach your children the importance of peace with all men. Proverbs 22:10. Cast out the scorner and contention shall go out; yea, strife, and reproach shall cease. They should seek peace and pursue it. They should also seek justice, fairness, and equity for all.
🎯8. Teach your children that fear destroys destinies. Proverbs 22:13. The slothful man saith, There is a lion without, I shall be slain in the streets. God has not given them the spirit of fear but of boldness, love, and sound minds. They should not fear anything, but have faith in God in everything.
🎯9. Teach your children the benefits of corrections and godly rebukes. Proverbs 22:15. Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child, but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him. Correction is for their good and well-being.
🎯10. Teach your children to learn daily from all things around them. Proverbs 22:17. Bow down thine ear, and hear the words of the wise, and apply thine heart unto my knowledge. Teach them to learn and apply what they learn regularly.
🎯11. Teach your children to be honest and just to all. Proverbs 22:22. Rob is not the poor, because he is poor: neither oppresses the afflicted in the gate: They should embrace honesty, integrity, and uprightness.
🎯12. Teach your children the power of good associations. Proverbs 22:24. Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man, thou shalt not go: Friendship is a choice. Teach them to make the right choices. Not all men or women should be their friends.
🎯13. Teach your children to respect godly and holy traditions and practices. Proverbs 22:28. Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set. They should also respect their elders.
🎯14. Teach your children that hard smart work 24/7 pays. Proverbs 22:29. Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.
Laziness does not do anyone any good. They should work hard and be smart to stand out in life.
