Let us discuss what it takes to truly command and govern your time. Most of us have lived in a situation where we only have a limited quantity of free time.
Most people believe that only the most successful individuals have total control over their free time. When you consider how much spare time you have, you might be shocked.
One major difficulty is that most individuals fill their leisure time with activities they believe they must perform. Everything else is a decision once you’ve completed your duties to your work, family, and social life.
The more wisely you spend your “free time,” the more “free time” you’ll be able to unlock. But how can you be sure you’re making the most use of your time?
Here are simple tips to consider while evaluating your actions and mindset:
Make sure you’re always seeking new methods to invest in your learning and growth. You’d be amazed at how much free training is available; it’s an excellent place to start when studying a new topic.
If you want to dig deep into better solutions for that, you’ll need to invest in your time and if possible small resources for coaching and mentorship from an expert that will help you learn quickly.
This is typically the best way to avoid making many of the common mistakes individuals make while attempting to succeed at anything.
Recognize the distinction between street smarts and book smarts. Many times, you’ll meet folks who have a lot of knowledge about a subject but lack something crucial: street smarts.
Street smarts can be learned the hard way (through failures) or through mentorship from someone who has already made the mistakes.
Recognize that you will spend the majority of your time off track. Going from choice to action to outcomes is never a straight line; there are always things you’ll discover along the road that will modify your path.
Accepting and anticipating this is your best bet, rather than being surprised by failure or change. Take in a piece of new knowledge, make adjustments, and keep going forward.
Your default mode is a “hypnotic state,” which means that for the majority of your life, your subconscious is in charge. This implies it’s critical to train yourself to recognize when you’re doing on purpose vs when you’re acting on autopilot.
Making a mental note to pause on a frequent basis, take a few deep breaths, and ask yourself WHY you’re doing anything is an easy method to achieve this. This is significant because it will gradually educate your conscious mind to pay greater attention to your actions. This will help you be more aware of how you use your leisure time.
We all have the same amount of time because, quite frankly, we are in command of how we use it. Yes, instead of doing something that would get you closer to your objectives, you could definitely watch a movie or play video games.
And yes, that is fun, and there’s nothing wrong with that. However, it’s critical not to allow “pleasure” to take precedence over the quest for knowledge. Take pleasure at the moment, learn something new, and create something new.
